In Memory of Erica Sluder
It is with heavy hearts that we remember our dear friend and fellow chapter and board member, Erica.
As our Activities Board Member, Erica brought joy, laughter, and an infectious enthusiasm to everything she did. Her fun-loving personality and genuine warmth made everyone feel welcome, and she had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Whether planning chapter events, welcoming a new member, or simply offering encouragement, she approached every opportunity with kindness, energy, and a heartfelt desire to help others.
Erica was a cornerstone of our chapter. She was the steady presence we could always count on, the person who willingly stepped in wherever she was needed, and a trusted resource not only for our local chapter but for SHRM chapters throughout our region. Her willingness to share her knowledge, support fellow volunteers, and invest in the success of others exemplified the very best of servant leadership.
While her passing leaves a profound void in our chapter, her legacy of compassion, service, and friendship will continue to inspire us. We are deeply grateful for the countless ways she enriched our SHRM community and the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
She will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever remain a part of the heart of our chapter.
2026 Scholarship Applications are now OPEN!
We are excited to officially announce that our CKSHRM scholarship applications are now OPEN! This is a wonderful opportunity for our chapter members and/or their dependents to help further their education, and we encourage anyone interested to apply.
Eligibility for consideration includes:
Applicant must be a current CKSHRM member in good standing or the legal dependent of a current CKSHRM member in good standing
Applicant must be seeking support for post-secondary education at an accredited educational institution
Applicant must have a 2.5 GPA from most recent educational institution
Applicant must have a composite ACT score of 20 or higher
Submit a recommendation letter from a teacher, principal or counselor (high school seniors only)
Submit essay: topic is how this scholarship money would contribute to your long term goals
Scholarship applications must be turned in no later than 06/16/2026. Board will review applications and submit results by June 30, 2026.

Rotary Club Presentation
Three of our local board members: Amy Isola, Erica Sluder, and Mary Beth Bonta presented to the Harrodsburg Rotary Club on July 17th, 2024.
The presentation included information about our Central Kentucky SHRM chapter, including the purpose as well as other topics included the current state of the workforce in our area and other program offerings.
Also included in the photo is Caleb Conover, Community Connections Librarian and Harrodsburg Rotarian.
